General Membership Meeting Minutes
February 13, 2008
Meeting called to order by President Burzichelli at 8:00 pm
Pray and pledge of allegiance conducted by Vice President Fisher
Roll Call of Officers conducted
January minutes read and accepted by motion
January Executive Officer minutes read and accepted by motion
Correspondence:
Received correspondence from PBA Local 122
Received correspondence from Coolies anemia Foundation
Received correspondence from St. Michael's Church regarding Golf Fund raiser
Received correspondence from S.J. Sports Hall of Fame
Received correspondence from State Lodge regarding fund raiser
Received correspondence from Paulsboro Chamber of Commerce
Received correspondence from Alex's Lemonade Stand
Ways & Means:
The Super Bowl Party was a great success once again
Jack Robostell's fundraising event is going well
Received a donation from Joe Ficara's group for use of the building.
All other fundraising events are listed on the "Coming Events" Page of the website
Trustees Report:
The following items were discussed;
All building maintenance is going along well and as scheduled.
Italian Language Preservation:
More Italian Language Teachers are needed to our public schools.
Italian Language Instruction is being offered at night at the Swedesboro Middle School
State Lodge Report:
The State and National Scholarship Applications have been placed at the Lodge.
Bar Report:
Received and accepted by motion
Rental Report:
Received and accepted by motion
Membership Committee:
Current membership at 317 members
Two new members were sworn in at the General Membership Meeting
Five (5) new applications were voted upon and approved on advice of Executive Committee.
Welfare:
No Report.
Treasurer's Report:
Read and accepted by motion
Financial Secretary's Report:
Read and accepted by motion
New Business:
A donation was made to PBA Local 122
A donation was made to Coolies Anemia Foundation
A donation was made to St. Michael's Church for the Golf Fund raiser
A donation was made to the S.J. Sports Hall of Fame
A donation was made to the State Lodge for the Purple Astor Ball
Two tickets were purchased for the State Ball
Approved use of the Lodge for Alex's Lemonade Stand event
Old Business:
The election slate was approved and closed after members were given the opportunity to run
from the floor. The slate was elected by the Secretary casting the vote.
Thank you to Brian DiTonno for his past years of service as a Trustee.
There was a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:42 pm which was passed.
Sandwiches were served for $1.00
